Bring Your Drums, Gourds, Rattles
The afternoon will culminate with J D Barber and his friends lavishing us with inspirational Native American flute music held in a communal heartbeat created by everyone in the room expressed by shared rhythms as we are all invited to join in drumming, rattle shaking, and joyful dancing.

And they have great food!
Bring your friends!

The theme, “Earth, Nourishment, Vitality” makes me think of practice groups, how they can nourish people, the persistence required to show up week after week, and the vitality the comes from resolving problems, finding empathy, taking a shared journey.

People from out of state have asked: “How do you do it? How have you cultivated so many practice groups? How have you been able to cultivate such a warm welcoming community?”

People devoted to compassion, connection, and nonviolence, walking the talk, rolling up their sleeves, and donating hundreds of hours a year to something they believe in, that’s how we do it.
