Bridging the Political Divide
A workshop in collaborative dialogue and consensus building between people holding different political interests, opinions, values and beliefs.
Wanted: Individuals with diverse political beliefs interests, opinions, values, and beliefs to strengthen our community by Bridging the Political Divide.
Are you dissatisfied with the conflict, anger, and irreverence surrounding politics? Do you share my belief that we need to do better? Then please join me for the Bridging the Political Divide workshop on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The program is designed to give people the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively engage in collaborative dialogue. Dialogue that is hard on problems and soft on people. Dialogue that draws strength from differences. Dialogue that builds community while respecting individuality.
The mission of the program is to improve the quality of political dialogue in our community. Ideally, the participants will represent a broad spectrum of political beliefs. Although the primary focus is learning the methods and skills of collaborative dialogue and consensus building, the program will focus on local (Salida) issues in anticipation of the upcoming city council elections.
The location is the First Presbyterian Church, 7 Poncha Boulevard, Salida, CO, 81201. We are requesting a suggested donation of $15 to cover our costs.
The program is part of Conflict Resolution Month as declared by the Colorado legislature.
